What happens at the Transfer Day Program?

Academic Information Session

Plan to attend an Academic Information Session prior to your advisement appointment to ensure you receive valuable information regarding your courses and future academic career. 

Academic Information Sessions will take place from 9-9:45am or 1-1:45pm in the Prairie Room of the Bone Student Center March 21, March 28, April 4, and April 11.

If, however, your appointment conflicts with an Academic Information Session, please plan on arriving earlier for the 9am session or staying later for the 1pm session to ensure you receive valuable information regarding your courses and future academic career.  More information regarding specific room locations will provided during check-in.

Campus Tours

Student-led walking tours of the campus will depart from the Transfer Day Program check-in table in the Prairie Room of the Bone Student Center at 10:00am and 2:00pm March 21, March 28, April 4, and April 11.

Information Fair

Campus representatives will be on hand to answer questions and provide information that will assist in the transition to Illinois State University.  The Information Fair will be held from 11:30am-1:00pm in the Prairie Room of the Bone Student Center March 21, March 28, April 4, and April 11.

Redbird Cards (Student Identification Cards)

After you register for classes, you may obtain your Redbird Card at the Redbird Card office located on the 2nd floor of the Bone Student Center. You must be registered for at least one class before the Redbird Card will be issued. You must also present a form of photo identification, such as a driver's license, to obtain your card.

 

 

 

 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I contact an advisor?

Call your major department and schedule an advisement appointment as soon as possible**. When speaking with the department, indicate you are making an appointment for one of the TDP Days. An advisor will be assigned to you when you call to schedule your appointment.

**If you will have less than 24 semester hours completed by the time you begin classes at Illinois State, or you are a general student, pre-nursing major, or unclassified student, you will be advised by the University College Academic Advisement Center.

** If you are a student with 24 or more hours and have declared a major, please call your major department to schedule your appointment.

What if my address or major has changed?

If you need to change your address or major, please contact the Office of Admissions at (800) 366-2478. If you request a major change, once this change is verified by the Office of Admissions, please consult the TDP phone list for the appropriate advisor to schedule your TDP Day appointment.

What do I do after making my advising appointment?

March 21, March 28, April 4 and April 11, please report to the Prairie Room of the Bone Student Center to check in and receive your Transfer Day Program information packet.

For those attending the Transfer Day program on a day other than those listed above, please check in at the Student Service and Referral Center in Moulton Hall.

It is recommended that you allow approximately 90 minutes to park your car, check in, and attend an Academic Information Session prior to your advising appointment. You will want to make sure you bring photo identification such as a license as most services at Illinois State University require some type of photo identification. You will also want to bring a catalog from your current institution (and previous institution if applicable).
